Everyday Magical Art
Spurred on by a competition and the offer of a prize, I created this artwork, quite different from my usual content. I loved capturing the pigeons in flight.

I loved creating this image. It was a challenge mentally, technically and artistically. Mentally, there was a fair amount of planning involved to video the daily pigeon feeding, and choose still-frames to draw, and to get the layers of the image right.
Technically, it was my first time working with watercolour paint over large areas, and also using waterproof felt pens in combo with the watercolour paint.
Artistically, I had to overcome doubt, and employ the 'less is more' strategy, to know when to stop and move on.
Personally, I most loved the greater appreciation that creating the work gave me of the wonder of flight. I hope I've captured some of the everyday magic of feeding the pigeons that wait for me in my backyard each day.
