"I’m just me, with strengths and weaknesses, gradually getting braver at sharing my story and my skills..."

Crafting an 'About Me' section feels a bit odd, but here goes. Since 2015, I've embraced the role of a Nutrition Coach. I became a Nutrition Coach because I wanted to get a qualification behind my desire to mentor others in recovery from eating disorders.

Prior to this, I've been immersed in the fitness realm since 2012, initially as a group fitness instructor, and later expanding my expertise as a Personal Trainer since 2020. As such, I have focused on 'Safe Exercise at Every Stage' (SEES) for individuals grappling with eating disorders. This is because as many as four in five individuals with eating disorders engage in dysfunctional exercise behaviours.

Nutrition has been an interest area of mine for thirty years now. As a teenager I bought a second-hand book on vitamins and minerals and found it fascinating. My health issues with food intolerances made me more curious. And my long stint with Anorexia Nervosa brought me face to face with the necessity of good nutrition for a healthy life. You could say that I really tested that undeniable reality as I pushed the boundaries and starved myself on and off for years of Anorexia restriction. We truly need good nutrition with all the macro and micronutrients. It’s the foundation of a healthy fulfilling life.

I’m proud to share that I’ve completed a Bachelor of Theology. Understanding Christian theology is one of my other interest areas. It’s helped me form a spiritual perspective on holistic health and given me hope for a pathway towards complete well-being. And I’m proud to share that I’ve raised a son who is now a happy young man. For many years I was a single Mum, and I home-schooled him for five years – thankfully whilst not a single Mum.

I'm also a not-so-crazy cat-lady. I’ve got four lovely cats. And I dabble in gardening. But most of all, I’m just me, with strengths and weaknesses, gradually getting braver at sharing my story and my skills to help others.

You can see a bit more of me on my YouTube channel, but, be warned - there are some kinda old videos of me on there!

MY ART

An Emotion Landscape

This drawing and all the artwork on this website is my own. I hope you like the personal touch.

Even before I knew that Art Therapy is a thing, I used expressive image making as a way of getting out my thoughts and feelings onto paper in front of me, when often I didn't actually have words for what was going on.

Many are like an emotion landscape. In line and colour, they portray the internal space of my experience. Made real and tangible, the feelings no longer reverberate inside with as much intensity.
