Choosing to get some coaching is a big step. It says that you've got a hope for yourself for something different, and that you've got some goals in mind, but that there's some obstacles currently stopping you from bringing your hopes to life.
Maybe you’re hoping to feel more energetic, and your goal is to figure out what food and nutritional changes might help, but it all feels too overwhelming. That’s just an example.
My hope during Anorexia was simply for life to not feel like such a constant struggle. My goal was just to eat as best as I could. As I gradually made progress, my hopes lifted and my goals grew bigger. Obstacles seemed less insurmountable with every little success. Finally I achieved the recovery that had seemed impossible. I hope to give all my coaching clients that same realisation of success.
People come to me with all sorts of hopes and goals. Some want to lose weight, or keep weight off in a healthy way. Others need to gain weight. Some just know that their food choices could be a lot better. Others aren’t sure where they could improve their nutrition, but suspect that better nutrition could be the key to better health, mood and energy. Whatever the challenges are, they’re better when we face them together.
Good coaching, to me, is a balance of guidance with the right kind of information, and support with a good dose of patience, wisdom and encouragement. With me, you get to choose your own goals, and set your own pace of change.
